Fernando Calbacho Losada

Fernando is Of Counsel at the Firm and is part of the Corporate, M&A and Finance Area and Real Estate Law Practice Areas. He joined the Firm in January 2026.
Previously, he was a partner in the commercial law department at Uría Menéndez (1999-2024), where he led the New York office between 2002 and 2005. Before that, he worked as in-house counsel and executive at several companies (lawyer at GRUPO ECROS, director of legal affairs of FERTIBERIA, legal manager at REPSOL, and general counsel of AGROMAN).
His professional practice focuses on corporate law in general and, in particular, he specializes in Mergers and Acquisitions, real estate transactions, financing, and debt restructuring processes; he also has extensive experience in governance law and is currently a member of the board of directors of CONSTRUCTORA SAN JOSÉ.
In the teaching activity, he was an associate professor of Commercial Law at the University of Alcalá from 1993 to 2002; he is currently a professor in the Executive Master in Corporate Legal Practice at Centro de Estudios Garrigues (Universidad Europea de Madrid) and professor of Legal Argumentation and Debate Techniques at ICADE.
